It was very engaging and was really nice to watch. It captured my attention straight away due to it's immense, unique & unforgettable action scenes, & the deep connection between Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) & Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone). Despite all this, "The Amazing Spider-man 2" has one fatal downside; the extremely large plot was squished into one single movie...so to me, the storyline seemed a bit rushed. I think we can blame Sony on that. But otherwise, the performances were great, the visual effects were awesome & the directing performed by Marc Webb was Splendid, all of which make for a great movie.
I actually like this one a lot. Very dark story and fights, interesting characters. One reason is Elektro reminds me of The Beast and evil Cole MacGrath from the inFamous series. This fight with Spiderman was one of the highest points of the movie. I'm astraphiliac, so I love lightning and villains that gives this element some dimensional use. Many heroes and villains like to use this power, as Tanor does, but every one of them uses it differently from each other in some way.
I felt Harry Osborne was rushed in to fill up the movie with villains (doing the same thing Spider-Man 3 did), felt like he had no reason to be in this movie when he was not even introduced in ASM1. Just sort of shows up, with both his introduction and the fight. I think James Franco's Harry was much more the anti-villain/anti-hero he needed to be. To be both Peter's best friend and boost to Spider-Man's character. This movie's Harry Osborne didn't feel like that. Just some spoiled, emo, rich brat. Yes, the original Harry was rich and spoiled as well, but not overly sour with it. He had the 90s emo to it, the modern Harry has that poseur new emo thing to it.
The way he appears is so anti-climatic compared to Spider-Man 3, where he became a good guy and did more for Spider-Man than here. In fact, him and Elektro has the same air as Venom and Sand-man in SM3. Elektro and Sandman were at least fun to watch.
I liked that there was depth to this movie, the same with Spider-Man 3, having more than one plot or more than one villain is not a bad thing. That's why I liked SM3 and this movie's villains. Many don't like that, and I understand. So I give this one a 4.5. I initially didn't like this movie's premise when it was out in theaters, but glad I watched it now.
Oscorp is creating weapons for villains Spider-Man fights in the comics which is setting up the sinister six and Gwen's story is her death leading up to her from the comics all through the movie we also find out what happened to Peter parents why they left all the actors do a great job Andrew Emma is sexy and dehaan I liked him as Harry he was a good green goblin Harry in the movie is trying to figure out what oscorp is doing and find away to save his life though the fight with goblin and Spider-Man was weak Gwen's death was pretty much the same as the comics except at the clock tower Andrew and Emma are great together felica is in the movie she doesn't do anything her only thing she does is tell harrry about the special projects it's cool to see her on screen
Electro is the main villain he was pretty good but he could have been developed more but his reason for becoming a villain was mostly clear and understandable
Flaws I didn't have much problems with the movie one scene Spider-Man lets people get hurt so he can be funny another scene doesn't make sense showing him cover in feathers than holding a fish WTF but it was funny the rhino is at the end nothing is done with him really but cool to see the rhino
